Cuttack Tour - One of oldest cities of Odisha (Orissa), cuttack has developed to be a viable commercial centre in the cultural state of Odisha (Orissa). Best known for the Silver Filigree art work, Cuttack is a narrow land strip that is spread on a very productive land with a delta formed by Mahanadi and Kathjori rivers thus resulting in a hearty production of rice.

A distance of mere 30 kms from Bhubaneshwar is happily covered by the art lovers for they make it a point to carry exquisite jewellery, utensils and decorative items as souvenirs to be presented to their loved ones as a memorabilia of their visit to Cuttack. Though a bit too costly; yet these gifts will truly mesmerize the receiver by their enchanting appearance.

Offering a real treat to the anthropology lovers, the city is known for the stone embankments on Kathjori River dating back to 11th century AD. The ruins of the Barabati fort, on the bank of the Mahanadi also pay a standing ovation to the architectural skills of the native artisans of cuttack. This fort induces valiant memories of a splendid bygone era. The tourists visiting the fort also make it a point to go to Katak Chandi, a famous Hindu Temple.

This unique city also holds a rarest example of inter religion peace in the form of a famous Mohammedan shrine known as Qadam-i-Rasool that is equally acclaimed by both Muslims and Hindus. Marked for the footprints of Prophet Mohammed, the shrine is also complimented by a music gallery built in l8th century AD. Cuttack also proves to be a real haven for shoppers as you can keep on shopping till you drop for silk and cotton textiles.
