An irrigation project, Upper Jonk, near village Patora, 16-km from Nuapada, the District Headquarters town, is a place of rare beautiful charm and an asylum to aquatic fauna. Engirdled on all sides by green-clad hills, it holds in its bosom, a culture dating back to the pre-Christian era at Manikagarh.
